Search Queries
Names or locations entered in a search tool are sent to the third-party company that operates that tool. The provider processes the request and supplies its results. Limestone County Criminal History does not store or log those query terms on its own systems.
Messages and Contact Submissions
If a visitor sends a message by an available contact method, the message may be kept long enough to review and respond. It is not shared outside the organization unless disclosure is required by law.

Your Data Rights
Rights vary by a person's location and the law that applies. Alabama's public-writings law, principally Ala. Code § 36-12-40, concerns access to government records rather than visitor data held by a private site. Ala. Code § 41-9-643 governs a person's statutory review and challenge of Alabama criminal history information maintained within the state system. It does not turn this private reference site into the custodian of ALEA records. Subject to applicable law and whether the site holds the data, a visitor may:
- Ask what personal information is held about the visitor
- Request correction of inaccurate personal information
- Request deletion when the law and retention duties permit it
- Use browser and provider controls to limit certain processing
